I often felt

What are the rules of rolling a Mezuzah parchment? Can the scroll be wrapped in Saran Wrap or plastic before putting it into a case? I'm especially concerned about protecting a Mezuzah which hangs outdoors.

hospital_web.jpgLast week a business associate of my father's passed away. He was a traditional Jew. I decided to go to pay a Shiva call
to his wife and 2 adult children on behalf of
my parents who live
out of town.

They were very touched that I came. Plus they were very excited to tell me how helpful a "Chassidik " family was to them in the hospital. When her husband passed away, the hospital wanted to do an autopsy. The Chassidik people explained to her why it should not be done and they spoke to the hospital for her. They even got a Jewish coroner to come to the hospital to sign him out. They also explained to her about a proper Jewish Tahara and Burial.

So she called Chabad in her town in New Jersey to make sure that everything was done "Kosher". She was absolutely shocked that the Chassidim from the hospital came to pay a Shiva call. She was so moved and touched that STRANGERS can be so helpful! We talked about many things in the hour that I was there.

I will try my best to keep in touch with them and establish a friendship. I went for my Project Inspire "homework" and I am so happy that I did.
